Efficacy

How does the Sirenix™ control mosquitoes?
Sirenix™ uses the “Lethal Ovitrap” method. Gravid females are lured to lay eggs; the eggs never develop into adults, breaking the breeding cycle. One female can lay up to 500 eggs—stopping her reduces populations within weeks.
Does Sirenix™ work for all types of mosquitoes?
Yes. It targets human-biting species including Aedes, Culex, and Anopheles.
How does it stop larvae from becoming adults?
It uses patented solar-powered Acoustic Larvicide. Short sound pulses rupture larvae’s respiratory system every six hours. No chemicals involved.
Why do mosquitoes lay eggs in the Sirenix™?
It combines 8 natural lures: visible water, organic aromas, early-larvae scent, black-and-white stripes, shaded tire-like design, dry resting area, blue LEDs, and LED motion cycling.
How long until I see results?
Usually within 2 weeks; around 1 month, mosquito populations begin to collapse.
How many units do I need?
One Sirenix unit covers approximately 4,000 square feet of outdoor space or about 1/10 of an acre. For properties larger than this, we recommend multiple units, spaced at 400 foot intervals along vegetation borders.

Safety

Is it safe for pets, wildlife, and people?
Yes. The Sirenix™ contains no chemicals. Acoustic pulses are harmless, inaudible, and contained within the unit.
Does it use pesticides?
No. It is 100% pesticide-free, powered by solar energy and sound only.
Is the sound energy dangerous?
No. The frequencies are just above human hearing and are non-harmful. Energy is trapped in the water chamber and doesn’t affect pets or people.

Operation

How do I know if Sirenix™ is working?
The right-most LED flashes every 20 seconds. On startup, LEDs run a sequence confirming proper operation.
Where should I place it?
Keep the basin in partial shade, and place the solar panel in full sunlight. Position near vegetation borders.
How long does charging take?
From empty to full requires ~6 hours of direct sun.
Do I need to add water?
Yes. Fill initially to just below the overflow holes. It works with as little as ⅜″ of water. All LEDs flash together when water is low.
Should I run it year-round?
Yes in warm climates. In freezing areas, store indoors during winter and set outside one month before mosquito season.
When do the LEDs flash?
Dusk/dawn (motion cycle), when water is low, every 2 minutes (system check), and on startup (test sequence).
Can it tip over?
The wide base and low profile withstand winds up to ~50 mph and bumps from animals.
Will rain or sprinklers affect it?
No. Rain and sprinklers actually help maintain water levels.

Maintenance

How often should I add water?
Usually once per week in hot, dry weather. Rain reduces the need. LEDs flash when low.
What kind of water should I use?
Tap water works fine.
Do I need to change the water?
Only if debris builds up. Natural rain and acoustics limit algae; most users refresh every ~3 months.
How do I clean the unit?
Wipe with fresh water and a soft cloth. Avoid damaging sensors and the rubber transducer. Keep the solar panel glass clean.
How long will the unit last?
The Sirenix™ is built with durable, UV and weather resistant materials and should last multiple years with minimal upkeep.
